7 Incredibly Powerful Marvel Gods That Still Need an MCU Appearance

There are still many gods and deities from Marvel Comics that we hope make their first appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Over the last 17 years, Marvel Studios has introduced many different gods and god-like beings to the MCU, including some formidable characters such as Thor, Khonshu, Zeus, and Eternity. While it’s been great to see some of these gods to demonstrate their remarkable and unmatched abilities, the door is open for even more gods to debut in the MCU and change the franchise’s power level for good.

While the alien beings from the likes of Asgard and Omnipotence City were worshipped on Earth as gods in ancient times, cosmic entities such as Celestials, Eternity, the Elders of the Universe, and the Egyptian entities are much closer to what we know to be gods. These godly beings are some of the MCU’s most powerful characters, but only a fraction of their powers have been glimpsed in live-action. If Marvel introduces some of these other formidable gods, there will be plenty more opportunity to show off some of the franchise’s most impressive and cinematic abilities.

7) Chthon

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness delivered the MCU’s first mention of this incredible god-like character. Chthon is an Elder God in Marvel Comics who uses Chaos Magic to warp reality to his will โ€“ a curse he imbued on Wanda Maximoff when she was a child, leading to her transformation into the Scarlet Witch. Chthon was confirmed to be the creator of the original Darkhold spells in the MCU, just as he was in Marvel Comics, and the resident of the Darkhold Castle on Mount Wundagore. This confirmation in the MCU makes us desperate to see Chthon in action.

6) Amatsu-Mikaboshi

First seen in Marvel Comics in Thor: Blood Oathย #6 in 2006, Amatsu-Mikaboshi is depicted as a demonic god of evil and darkness. He is a dark, primordial force that dominated the Earth millennia ago and sought to regain his empire in the modern age, opposing Thor and Hercules. This culminated in the Chaos War event, where Marvel’s gods banded together to stop Amatsu-Mikaboshi. This is a being with an unbelievable amount of power, evil, and influence โ€“ and Brett Goldstein’s debut as Hercules in Thor: Love and Thunder could have opened the door for Amatsu-Mikaboshi to appear in the MCU.

5) Infinity

Thor: Love and Thunder introduced Eternity to the MCU, but this godly being’s sister, Infinity, is yet to make her live-action debut. While Eternity is depicted as the personification of time, Infinity is the personification of space, and the source of the Quantum Bands’ power in Marvel Comics. This could connect the cosmic entity to Kamala Khan’s Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) in the MCU, as she now has claim over both the Quantum Bands. This could give the young hero even more power โ€“ forging her, with Infinity’s help, into one of the MCU’s most powerful and significant characters.

4) The Beyonder

With Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon, it’s very possible we could soon see the Beyonder in the MCU. Back in 1984, the otherworldly god-like Beyonder plucked the heroes and villains of the Marvel Universe to Battleworld, forcing them to fight for his entertainment. He was later revealed to be a child of the Beyonders, a race of higher-dimensional aliens who live outside the multiverse and are responsible for destructive incursions. Doctor Doom steals their power in 2015’s Secret Wars event, so the same could be explored in live-action if the Beyonder makes his MCU debut.

3) The Living Tribunal

First seen back in 1967, the Living Tribunal is a being that oversees the stability of the entire multiverse in Marvel Comics, serving as the judge of all its alternate realities. This could be the same role for the godly being in the MCU. He was mentioned in Doctor Strange, and seen in statue form in Loki, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Thor: Love and Thunder, but the Living Tribunal has never properly been introduced to the MCU. Since the Living Tribunal oversees the multiverse, it would be great to see him before the Multiverse Saga concludes.

2) The Fulcrum

In the MCU, the Celestials are considered to be gods of the universe, but even they answer to someone. In Marvel Comics, who they answer to is the Fulcrum, an immensely powerful entity who uses all cosmic beings as his tools to balance reality and sustain it. He most notably communicates with Tiamut, the Dreaming Celestial, who was brought into the MCU in Eternals, and given a more substantial role in Captain America: Brave New World as the source of adamantium. Tiamut’s debut and the development of the Eternals creates the opportunity for the Fulcrum to appear.

1) One Above All

Considered to be the highest creative force in existence, and the source of all there was, is, or ever will be, the One Above All is the most powerful and influential figure in Marvel Comics, but we’re still waiting for this entity to appear in the MCU. The Living Tribunal โ€“ a being of incredible power and the overseer of the multiverse โ€“ is the One Above All’s servant and proxy. The One Above All has a dark side, however, the One Below All. Where one builds, the other breaks, bringing balance to reality. It created itself and is responsible for all things in the multiverse, and is more powerful than all its creations combined. It’s hard to imagine a being so powerful being introduced to the MCU.
