At the end of February, 20th Century Fox's Deadpool crossed the $600M benchmark at the worldwide box office. And now, two weeks later, the R-rated superhero movie has traversed the $700M milestone. Maximum effort!!!

To be more exact, Deadpool has grossed $708M. In order to become the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all-time, Deadpool will need to surpass $742M, a record set by the 2003 action film The Matrix Reloaded.

As for the domestic R-rated record, that still belongs to Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ with $370M. Currently, Deadpool is in third-place with $328M, but is closing in on American Sniper's $350M total.

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
