Johnson signed off on the post with “Your Black Adam,” citing his upcoming role as the DC Comics character โ a role that Johnson has been tied to for more than a decade. Though Black Adam is the archfoe of superhero Shazam (nรฉe Captain Marvel), the Shazam! movie won’t include Johnson’s big bad. Johnson will instead headline a standalone Black Adam movie while Shazam โ who will be played by Chuck star Zachary Levi, as revealed on Friday โ will do his own thing without fear of being overshadowed by the shadow of the mega-star that is the Rock. The plan, according to Johnson, is for the two to “come together at some point.”
Johnson’s latest, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, is a sequel to the 1995 classic Jumanji that starred Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst. Directed by Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher, Sex Tape) and co-starring Kevin Hart (The Secret Life of Pets), Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda) and Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle hits theaters December 20.
