7 Deadly Marvel Magic Villains That Still Need an MCU Appearance

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has explored cosmic threats, killer technology, and even the corners of the multiverse, but one area that has always captivated fans (as evidenced by Wanda Maximoffโ€™s popularity) is the mystical realm. While characters like Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch have dabbled in the arcane, they are Avengers working for the greater good. However, the MCU has only scratched the surface of those with less than pure intentions. Villainous magic-users aren’t just sorcerers with special powers; they are masters of ancient spells, demonic pacts, and reality-bending enchantments.

From demonic entities to sorceresses of untold and ancient power, these seven characters have the potential to impact the MCU on a multiversal scale.

7. Satana

Satana Hellstrom, the literal daughter of a demon, brings a unique blend of infernal power and inner conflict life. Unlike many villains, Satana walks the line between good and evil, sometimes even helping heroes. Her ability to absorb and redirect souls, along with her succubus powers, makes her a dangerous and unpredictable force of nature (or supernatural nature).

Introducing Satana would open up the darker, more demonic corners of the MCU that are only just now being explored, especially with the long-awaited introduction of Mephisto in Ironheart. Satana could be a bridge to characters like Ghost Rider or Blade, both of whom are expected to be part of the MCU. Her complex relationship with her family and her internal struggle against her literal demons would make a either an anti-hero or a truly terrifying villain.

6. Daimon Hellstrom

Daimon Hellstrom Marvel

Daimon Hellstrom, also known as the Son of Satan, wields terrible dark magic inherited from his demonic lineage. He has powers of pyrokinesis, necromancy, and the ability to project bolts of “soulfire.” While he can sometimes be a reluctant hero, his capacity for evil and his connection to the underworld make him an unassumingly dangerous character.

An MCU appearance for Daimon would delve deeper into the demonic hierarchy and the concept of hell within the Marvel universe that has yet to be explored. His internal conflict between his human and demonic sides, along with his powerful magical abilities, would make him a character along the lines of the Scarlet Witch, whether as an anti-hero or a magical threat.

5. Margali Szardos

Margali Szardos Marvel

Margali Szardos is a powerful Romani sorceress and the adoptive mother of Nightcrawler. Her mastery of black magic and prophecies, along with her ability to manipulate reality and dimensions, all add up to an impressively dangerous villain. She is usually driven by her own agenda that she keeps to herself, putting her at odds with both heroes and villains.

With the X-Men about to make their long-awaited introduction to the MCU, Margali would give a direct link to the X-Men’s mystical side through Nightcrawler, creating a connection between magic and mutants. Her complex history and motivations would make her an unpredictable enemy, capable of weaving intricate magical schemes across the MCU.

4. Nicholas Scratch

Nicholas Scratch Marvel

Nicholas Scratch is an incredibly powerful warlock and Agatha Harkness’ son. Though he was technically introduced in Agatha All Along, he died as a six year old child and was escorted into the afterlife by Death. Therefore, the door remains wide open to introduce a different version of Nicholas, whether he is older and corrupted by Death, or comes from a separate universe. In the comics, Nicholas wields dark magic like his mother, capable of casting spells, summoning demonic beings, and manipulating mystical energies.

Introducing an older and more comics-alligned version of Nicholas Scratch would deepen the lore surrounding Agatha Harkness in the MCU, especially as she navigates her new (after)life as Billy Maximoff’s spirit guide and somewhat surrogate mother. If he returns with powerful dark magic like his mother, it would upend Agatha’s world, especially considering that she viewed Nicholas as the only good thing she’d ever done in her long and murderous life.

3. Lore

Marvel Lore

Lore is a powerful variant of Scarlet Witch from an alternate reality and a sorceress who has embraced the dark arts in a way that Earth-616 Wanda never did. Unlike her counterpart, this version of Wanda Maximoff has mastered the dark craft of necromancy, using her nigh unlimited power to manipulate and reanimate the dead. Her abilities are a terrifying mix of reality-bending magic and the grim power over life and death.

Introducing a variant like Lore would be a fascinating way to explore the multiverse and the darker potential of Wanda’s powers in the MCU that were briefly on display in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Magic. Her mastery of necromancy and her corrupted nature would be a striking foil to the Wanda we know in the MCU, creating a deeply personal and dangerous magical threat for Doctor Strange or other heroes to confront.

2. Enchantress

Marvel Enchantress

Amora the Enchantress is one of Asgard’s strongest magic-users along the lines of Loki, capable of casting powerful spells of illusion, mind control, and energy manipulation. Her beauty is legendary, a fact she useses to her advantage as a tool to misdirect and manipulate. She is jealous, ambitious, and obsessed with Thor, making her a threat that is difficult to ignore.

The Enchantress’ long-standing history with Thor and her significant magical skills make her an overdue addition to the MCU. Her abilitiy to manipulate and cast powerful enchantments would post a unique challenge, particuarly if she teamed up with Loki (or a variant of him). This would force heroes to go up against with a threat who can twist minds and perceptions, not just physically overpower them.

1. Morgan Le Fay

Morgan Le Fay is one of the most ancient and powerful sorceresses in Marvel Comics, with roots in Arthurian legend. Her mastery of dark magic, time manipulation, and immortality makes her incredible dangerous and impossible to beat. She has often clashed with Doctor Strange, Captain Britain, and other mystical heroes throughout history.

Morgan Le Fay’s introduction would bring a deep historical and mythical dimension to the MCU’s magic. Her vast magical skillset, tactical cunning, and connection to ancient legends would make her an ultimate magical antagonist, capable of weaving elaborate schemes that span centuries and challenge the very fabric of reality.
