It looks like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is only the beginning for Sylvestor Stallone in the world of comic book movies. While his portrayal of Starhawk is likely to expand in future Marvel Cinematic Universe films, the actor is already being eyed for a role in another comic book film.
Twentieth Century Fox has their eyes on Stallone for an upcoming adaptation of Mark Millar‘s Starlight comic books, where he would be playing the titular agin intergalactic hero.

The Starlight film coming from the same studio as Deadpool, will follow McQueen as a retired former hero who was looking to settle down with his family after a long career of taking on intergalactic threats. As all good stories go, the man looking to hang it up is called back into action after receiving a message from a distant world.

This all comes based on the Starlight comic mini-series which ran from March of 2014 through October of 2014. Writer Mark Millar is best known to moviegoers for his efforts with Wanted, Kick-Ass, and what will soon be a pair of Kingsman movies.
Starlight will be written by Gary Whitta, who is best known recently for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Guardians Vol. 2 is not Stallone’s first entry into the world of comic book films. In 1995, the Rocky actor starred in Judge Dredd, which developed a small cult following but did not go over well with moviegoers or critics overall.
