On Sunday, as celebrities were arriving to the 2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards, Los Angeles was whacked by a rare and massive hail storm, so MTV cancelled the red carpet portion of the event. Fans that got to there early so that they could stand by the red carpet and watch their favorite celebrities stride by them were disappointed. However, there was one celebrity that didn’t mind getting wet.

Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey had a blast being one of the only celebrities on the red carpet. He didn’t walk on it, though. Since it was soaked, he had some fun hydroplaning across it. He also went out of his way to stop and pose with with the crowed of drenched onlookers.
For me, that makes him already a superhero. Even so, MTV International caught up with Posey at star-studded annual award show and asked him which superhero he would most like to play. “Uh… Captain Underpants!” the 25-year-old actor shouted into the microphone. “I would love to be Captain Underpants. That was one of my favorite books when I was a kid and… still is.”
In the upcoming animated movie, Ed Helms is portraying Captain Underpants, so will either have to wait until Helms gives up the briefs or hope that they one day make a live-action film. However, since Captain Underpants is actually a principal that has been hypnotized into believing he is a superhero by two mischievous fourth graders, Posey will need a decade or two before he’ll look the part.
Two scheming fourth graders, George Beard (Kevin Hart) and Harold Hutchins (Thomas Middleditch) whose personal missions are to play pranks, hide in their secret treehouse and write comic books. But when they accidentally bring their favorite comic book character, Captain Underpants, to life through a hypnosis accident involving their megalomaniacal principal Mr. Krupp (Ed Helms), their elementary school life becomes anything but elementary. Rounding out the cast will be Jordan Peele who will voice Melvin, the nerdy nemesis of George and Harold, and Nick Kroll as the insidious villain, Professor Poopypants.
Directed by David Soren (Turbo) and based on a script by Nick Stoller (The Muppets).
Captain Underpants will be released on June 2, 2017.
