$351M Nintendo Area Opening In Universal Studios Japan In Time For Tokyo Olympics

Mario and his Nintendo mascot cohorts are getting set to invade Universal Studios Japan...in 2020.

While that may seem far away, the new Nintendo themed area will be constructed in time for the Olympics, which should provide tourists something new to see while they are in town. Forty billion yen ($351 million USD) is being put into the new attraction, which Nintendo and Universal hope will achieve the same popularity that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Marvel Studios areas have amassed. While there isn't any word on what will be in the area yet, expect Nintendo's icons like Mario, Yoshi, Zelda, Donkey Kong, and Kirby to be featured all over it.
