Kevin Spacey has voiced his support for the casting of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor in Batman vs. Superman.
Spacey is the last actor to play Lex Luthor on the big screen, in 2006’s Superman Returns. In an interview with Empire Magazine, Spacey had this to say about the Eisenberg being cast as Luthor:
"First of all, I think [Jesse Eisenberg] is a remarkable actor. He's just going to ****ing own it. I think it's a great idea and I wish him the best with it."
Spacey has moved on from Lex Luthor to play a character possibly even more evil than Superman’s arch nemesis: Frank Underwood in House of Cards. Spacey says in the interview that he wants to move on to “different terrain,” and he has been writing letters to great directors that he hopes to work with, such as Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese.
The first two seasons of House of Cards are available on Netflix now.
Batman vs. Superman is scheduled to hit theaters May 6, 2016.
