Gambit - Tatum

It seems that previous reports of Channing Tatum being signed on to play Gambit in X-Men: Apocalypse and beyond have been a bit premature, but not by much. The actor tells The Hollywood Reporter that the deal isn't quite done yet, but it is close. "I hope to be joining -- everything's not done yet. "I've obviously been in talks, and we're on the one yard line," Tatum said. "I'm always afraid of being like, 'Yes it's totally happening' and then it doesn't happen. I'm dying to do it." Tatum has long been rumored to be in consideration to play Gambit and those rumors were seemingly confirmed when producer Lauren Shuler Donner said that Tatum would be their Gambit while promoting X-Men: Days of Future Past. Tatum's version of Gambit, should the deal be finalized, will be introduced in X-Men: Apocalypse and then go on to star in a solo spinoff film. X-Men: Apocalypse come to theaters May 27, 2016.
