Back in May, Variety reported that Chris Pine had been offered the role of Steve Trevor in Warner Brothers' Wonder Woman solo, which he eventually took. But for a long time, people weren't sure if that was really the role that he was offered. That's because in June, Latino Review reported Pine was "closing in on the role of Hal Jordan" in WB's Green Lantern reboot. Then in July, BirthMoviesDeath claimed that Pine was offered both roles. Now we know Pine was never in play for Green Lantern.
While promoting The Finest Hours, Pine was asked if he was ever offered the role of Green Lantern. "No," the Star Trek Beyond star replied. "I was not offered Green Lantern ever, I’ve never had a conversation about Green Lantern."
Listen to Pine's response in the video below.
Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot in the role of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman and Chris Pine as Captain Steve Trevor and Trevor's grandfather. It also stars Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis. Wonder Woman is being directed by Patt Jenkins (Monster, AMC’s The Killing).
Wonder Woman feature film is set to open in 2017.
