With summer already in full swing for Frozen fans, Disney is heating things up even more with their cool announcement that new Frozen stories are coming.

Returning to the kingdom of Arendelle, Disney will be releasing Frozen Northern Lights later this summer. The all-new story will feature characters such as Anna and Elsa, and Disney has said it will be pairing the release with a series of animated LEGO shorts.

Breaking news on the newest Frozen spin-off, Andrew Sugerman who acts as Executive Vice President at Disney Publishing Worldwide, said, "Natural phenomenon meets cultural phenomenon in this all new story, Frozen Northern Lights. We're excited to share this new adventure and offer fans great new ways to connect with their favorite characters thanks to a host of related books, digital games and activities."

The book, Frozen Northern Lights: Journey to the Lights, will be published by Disney as a special novelization in July before an following collection of books will hit stores later in the year. In the story, both old and new characters will make appearances as an upcoming protagonist named Little Rock is confirmed to join the loveable cast.

As for its LEGO shorts, four new animated videos will be released before a complete compilation will hit Disney Channel this fall. Disney has already got a strong relationship with the toy company as its Disney XD channel started airing LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures on June 20th.

Actor Josh Gad, who voices Olaf, announced the LEGO shorts via Youtube where he said, "Frozen Northern Lights offers fans an all-new Frozen story that will be introduced through a collection of books and LEGO shorts. The shorts are unbelievably cool. I know fans are going to absolutely love it." Happy to reprise his role, Gad said Disney's new project is going to be unbelievable as Frozen Northern Lights will be bringing back all of the original film's voice talent.

Released in 2013, Disney's Frozen broke records as the film ranked as one of the highest-grossing animated films of all-time with a $1.3 billion worldwide earning. The film, which earned two Academy Awards, had a feature-length sequel confirmed earlier last year.
