Universal Pictures' Furious 7 has raced past a MAJOR box office milestone in less than three weeks!
The studio has announced that Furious 7 has grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office in just 17 days.
"That makes Furious 7 the fastest live-action film to reach that number, ahead of Avatar, Marvel's The Avengers, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, all of which reached $1 billion in 19 days," EW reports.
Paul Walker's final film is the only movie from Universal Pictures to cross the billion dollar mark in its initial run. Jurassic Park accomplished the feat in 2013 when it was re-released in 3D. The Fast & The Furious franchise has grossed over $3 billion.
Continuing the global exploits in the unstoppable franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of Fast & Furious 7. James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series that also welcomes back favorites Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black. They are joined by international action stars new to the franchise including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Russell. The film was written by Chris Morgan.
Furious 7 is now playing!
