Wonder Woman, the first prominent female superhero, makes her way to the big screen for the first time in Zack Snyder's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and will follow that up with her own solo movie, which is currently being directed by Patty Jenkins. Gal Gadot, the actress that will bring the 75-year-old character to life in DC's cinematic universe, is very proud of the opportunity.

"Most of the movies, the men are in charge, the men are the most powerful ones," Gadot told Entertainment Weekly. "You've had Superman and Batman and everyone, but Wonder Woman was never there."

Gadot is looking forward to sharing the moment with her daughter, who is only 4-years-old, when at the appropriate age to view the film. "I'm so happy when she grows up she's going to see a female figure she can be inspired by," she said.

In Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25, 2016. Wonder Woman solo movie will hit theaters June 23, 2017.
