Things are getting a little weird over in Japan. Not long ago, the official website for the live-action JoJo's Bizarre Adventure film debuted a new key visual for the film, and it finally gives fans their first look at Josuke Higashikata. The lead can be seen sporting his iconic dark purple suit and slicked-back quiff, and he looks ready to take down some supernatural baddies.

Kento Yamazaki will be playing Josuke when JoJo's Bizarre Adventure hits theaters this year. The film is slated to premiere in August 2017, and it is wrapping up production in Japan now after having filmed abroad in Sitges and Spain. This character photo is the first one fans have gotten and it follows the teaser trailer released last month. The short footage did not show any scenes from the live-action adaptation, but it did introduce the film's cast.

Takashi Mike will be directing the film. The cast can be read below:

Kento Yamazaki - Josuke Higashikata
Ryunosuke Kamiki - Koichi Hirose
Nana Komatsu - Yukako Yamagishi
Masaki Okada - Keicho Nijimura
Mackenyu - Okuyasu Nijimura
Yakayuki Yamada - Anjuro Katagiri
Yusuke Iseya - Jotaro Kujo
Alisa Mizuki - Tomoko Higashikata
Jun Kuminura - Ryohei Higashikata

If you are not familiar with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, then it is time you got yourself acquainted with the series. The manga and anime are some of the most popular in Japan, and it has fans spanning across the globe. The series debuted in 1987 under Hirohiko Araki at Weekly Shonen Jump. It is the publication's second-largest manga to date, and David Production turned it into an on-going anime back in October 2012.

So far, the anime has covered four storylines from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaderes, and Diamond Is Unbreakable. The story follows the Joestar family as each member is gifted with unique powers to take down supernatural foes. The live-acton film will be sourced from the latest arc and follow hero Josuke Higashikata after he learns he's the illegitimate son of Joseph Joestar. A man named Jotaro comes to warn the powerful hero that a seedy group of Stand users are looking to acquire power from a mystical Bow and Arrow. Teaming up with Jotaro, Josuke agrees to get the Bow and Arrow out of enemy hands, but their job grows more complicated when they learn a notorious serial killer in Morioh is a new Stand user named Yoshikage Kira.
