Legendary Comics is trying their hand at the variant covers game with their forthcoming Pacific Rim: Tales From the Drift series…and #1 will feature a variant from ’90s superstar and Image Comics co-founder Whilce Portacio.
Following the best-selling graphic novel Tales From Year Zero, Legendary returns to Guillermo del Toro’s kaiju-filled world with Pacific Rim: Tales From The Drift.

The series promises to introduce all-new Kaiju creatures in this thrilling continuation of the Pacific Rim universe.
With a sequel on the way (albeit delayed while del Toro works on other projects), the Pacific Rim brand remains one of Legendary’s biggest — both in terms of its fan following and its importance to the company, which doesn’t own a lot of original IP.
The series comes from writer Joshua Fialkov and features artwork by Marcos Marz.
