Gender equality is starting to become a real thing at in Hollywood - or at least at Marvel Studios.
First, Evangeline Lilly's The Wasp was added to the title of the Ant-Man sequel, marking the first titular heroine at Marvel Studios. Now, we've learned that Scarlet Johansson, who plays Black Widow, earned equal pay as Chris Evans as Chris Hemsworth in Marvel's most recent super hero ensemble blockbuster, Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Previous reports had suggest Johnannson had made not equal to the amount of Evans and Hemsworth, but double, however, those have been ruled false. None of the stars received quite as much as Robert Downey Jr., who negotiated himself into a contract around the time of Iron Man which earned him about $80 million on the first Avengers alone.
This is a small step in the right direction for Hollywood studios, especially following the news that Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence received less pay than her American Hustler co-stars, despite having relatively equal screen time and a performance which earned an Oscar nomination.
