Like the titular character himself, The second season of the Flash will waste no time getting to the action.

While speaking to the press following his first Saturn Award--an accolade bestowed by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films--series star Grant Gustin teased that The Flash's sophomore season will introduce its central new villain seemingly within its first few episodes

"We're introducing a really cool big bad that's going to be revealed kind of immediately," said Gustin.

But villains aren't the only major development crash-landing into Barry Allen's life. Gustin also revealed that the scarlet speedster will factor immediately into DC Entertainment's upcoming third series, Legends of Tomorrow. According to Gustin, The Flash will carry a big presence in the series' opening episodes.

"I'm going to be a part of that right out of the gates as well," Gustin said. I get to be Flash on three TV shows [the third being Arrow]. I was unemployed a year and a half ago, so that's pretty cool."

Cool indeed--Just as long as The Flash introduces a new villain that's a worthy follow-up to the Reverse Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow makes good use of the Fastest Man alive.
