It's Okay to be Smart - The Science of Game of Thrones

The PBS Digital series It's Okay to be Smart, which explores scientific concepts in an entraining way, set its sights on Game of Thrones in its latest episode, explaining the science of George R.R. Martin's fantasy world. Host Joe Hanson considers what scientific reasons might explain "Planet Hodor's" unpredictable seasons, how dragons could possibly breathe fire, and whether or not a 700-foot tall wall of ice could actually exist. Its fun to see such fantastic ideas explored from a scientific perspective, especially when it turns out some of them could actually work. You can check out the full episode embedded below. Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 PM ET on HBO.
