While there's been a lot of talk about keeping the budget down so that the filmmakers can make the kind of movie that will please the fans, that doesn't  mean Fox isn't planning on building a franchise out of Deadpool, according to TJ Miller, who appears in the film.

Admitting that he's already done filming what he calls a small part as Weasel, Miller told the Opie and Jimmy Show that there are longer-term plans for the property.

"The movie is about the origin story [of Deadpool], because they want it to be the first installment of a franchise," said Miller.

You can hear a bit more in the video below.

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Directed by Tim Miller, the film will star Ryan Reynolds, Gina Carano, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, TJ Miller and more. It's set for release on February 12, 2016.
