Talk about kicking a movie when it's down. After a week where The Lone Ranger was said to be a $150 million-plus writedown for Disney, and the film's stars and producer went to the desperate "blame the media" gambit for its failure to perform, Transformers 4 star Mark Wahlberg is piling on. "They're spending so much money to pull the wool over the audience's eyes with these effects-driven movies," Wahlberg told the Los Angeles Times. "It's not like Jurassic Park, where you saw something groundbreaking and innovative and said 'Holy ... I gotta see that. Every end-of-the-Earth movie kind of feels the same." Speaking of The Lone Ranger specifically, Wahlberg asked a pointed question: "They're spending $250 million for two dudes on a horse? Where's the money going?"
