Kevin Durand Negan Walking Dead

The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, executive producer David Alpert, and showrunner Scott Gimple have all confirmed in the past that Negan from The Walking Dead comic book series will be introduced on the AMC show eventually.

Negan is one of the most vile and brutal villains to ever appear in The Walking Dead comic book series, and many have wondered given his propensity to use a certain four-letter word how he will ever be adapted for the TV series.

However, it looks like the Negan's eventual introduction might be in the works sooner rather than later. According to Nuke The Fridge, Kevin Durand mentioned that he had been approached about the Negan role, while he was taking part in a press conference call about The Strain.

Durand is quoted as saying, "I've had a lot of people with The Walking Dead talk to me, mentioned that they see me for a character named 'Negan,' but I haven't read the comic."

Of course, the big question is who approached Durand. Was it Walking Dead actors who just mentioned he would be good for the role? Or was he approached by one or more of the producers or casting agents for The Walking Dead?

Regardless of who approached him, Durand does seem like he would be a great fit for the role of Negan. If The Walking Dead producers are just now looking at candidates for the Negan role, could it be that they might be planning to introduce him in The Walking Dead Season 5 finale? That would certainly make for a good tease for Season 6.
