Spoilers incoming for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #19, so if you haven’t read it yet you’ve been warned.

The Power Rangers have been dealing with the (surprisingly lethal) machinations of Finster, who typically runs Rita’s easy-bake monster oven in the moon palace. These days he’s causing the Rangers significant distress thanks to his experiments on ordinary humans.

These humans are unaware that they can turn into spliced-together creatures at any minute, and just two of them managed to carve a path of destruction through the city. The Rangers were able to take them down eventually, but Finster revealed there are more out there, and he has no way to control them.

This prompts a surprising visit to their doorstep, and that can be taken quite literally as Grace Sterling, the leader of the Promethea organization that pointed them towards Finster in the first place, is standing outside of the command center.

Understandably this is surprising to the Rangers, as their HQ isn’t exactly found on Google Maps. The Rangers teleport outside to talk to her, where she surprises them by saying, “What happened today…we’re out of time. I need to talk to Zordon.” The Rangers don’t even know how she knows about the command center location, but Alpha interrupts with a surprising, “Hello, Grace.”

“Alpha. It’s been awhile,” Grace says, to which Alpha responds, “It has.”

Grace follows that up with a bombshell: “To answer your question, I know about Zordon for a very simple reason. The reason you all need to listen to me. I was his Red Ranger.”

Yeah, that’s a bombshell alright. This could be how fans get to the Power Rangers of 1969 storyline, and Grace would be about the right age to have once been a Ranger.

Grace has been making the Rangers her business for a while now, and while the Rangers have been reluctant to work with her, she has managed to help them out a few times.

Still, there are tons of questions now, like if she left on her own terms or was somehow forced out. It seems fans will have to wait until next issue to find out.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #19 is in stores now.
