You don’t have to be an avid fan or viewer of Star Wars Rebels to be excited for the episode coming on March 18, titled “Twin Suns.” If you’re a Star Wars fan at all, that title should make you think of the desert planet Tatooine, where we first meet Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan “Old Ben” Kenobi, and that’s exactly where Rebels is headed for an episode that sees Kenobi face off against his oldest enemy, Darth Maul (though the former Sith goes by just Maul now). We have a gallery of brand-new images from their fight below.

It’s a rematch for the ages, as Maul has directly killed two of the people closest to Kenobi, his master Qui-Gon Jinn and the love of his life the Mandalorian leader Satine Kryze. The former apprentice of Darth Sidious has a grudge of his own to hold, of course, seeing as Kenobi literally cut him in half, driving him crazy for several years, living essentially on pure hate and rage.

Now, about 17 years since their last meeting, Maul and Kenobi will have their next and presumably final fight. The match-up, taking place just a couple of years ahead of the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, should be an interesting one, as neither is at the peak of their power, and both have gone through transformative years of meditation. A new look at the match-up, as well as Ezra’s arrival on Tatooine and what looks like a bad time for him running into Maul, was offered up in a Disney XD promo for Rebels this weekend, and if seeing Obi-Wan and Maul face-to-face, lightsabers drawn doesn’t get your heart pumping, well, you should probably get yourself checked out.

“Twin Suns: Reacting to a vision of Maul, Ezra defies Hera and Kanan to travel to a remote planet in hopes of stopping the former Sith Lord from carrying out his plans,” reads the official episode description. That describes that while this is the matchup that fans of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: The Phantom Menace have been eagerly anticipating, ultimately it’s still Ezra’s story.

“You do tread carefully because you can’t do it just because you’re trying to add something [to the guest star’s past],” EP Dave Filoni told ComicBook.com recently. “It has to be valuable to Ezra. This experience, whatever it is, whatever form it takes, has to be valuable to the characters that are the center of Star Wars Rebels.”

Stephen Stanton voices Obi-Wan “Old Ben” Kenobi in the episode, with Sam Witwer back as Maul once again. “Twin Suns” is the penultimate episode of Rebels season 3, with the hour-long “Zero Hour” coming the following week.

Star Wars Rebels airs Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. ET on Disney XD. You can catch up anytime On Demand or on the WatchDisneyXD website and app.
