Luke tried to teach Kylo Ren the ways of The Force and it didn’t go all too well. Fortunately, Rey is guaranteeing that the same thing won’t happen with her.

In a new extended TV spot for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rey makes it clear that she isn’t going down the same path. She tells Luke, “Kylo failed you. I won’t.”
The sixty-second spot doesn’t include a ton of new footage, but one of the best shots of the teaser that does seem to be new focuses on Leia, staring out into the sky. While the spotlight is on her, Rey is talking about seeing “light.” Coincidentally, when Rey talks about seeing “Dark,” the camera focuses on the hand of Luke coming out of the ashes.
Most of the rest of the footage directs your attention to Rey’s Jedi training with Luke. Plenty of shots show the beauty of Ahch-To, and Rey swinging her lightsaber.
The TV spot ends with yet another shot of Rey holding the blue lightsaber up to her head, just as she did in The Force Awakens.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15, 2017.
