The Star Wars Universe expands nearly as fast as our own universe, entangled in many mediums as it branches outward. It has even stretched into the meta, as films about the fans of Star Wars—such as Fanboys—reach cult status in the shadow of Lucasfilm’s monolith.
Now a new meta approach to the fandom is gearing up for film, as Variety reports cameras are set to roll later this year on The Line Kings, a new movie about Star Wars fans.

The film will portray fans of the franchise who wait in a ridiculously long line for four days in front of the classic TCL Chinese Theater with the chance to win a chance at a walk-on roll in a new film.
Groups of the fans begin fighting for the chance to be The Line King.
The trade announced veteran TV director Tony Dow is set to come on the film being produced by Billy Riback and Steve Rubin.
Dow is perhaps best known for his role as Wally Cleaver on the television classic Leave It To Beaver. Since then he’s directed episodes of Babylon 5, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Honey, I Shrunk The Kids: The TV Show.
Riback is a producer and has written for series like Home Improvement and the Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
Production of The Line Kings is said to start in the spring.
