Disney Releasing A Slew Of New Star Wars Collectibles At D23

Throughout the years, more and more conventions have sprung up that showcase a wide variety of fandoms, allowing spectators to get the latest glimpse of an upcoming movie, TV show, or video game, in addition to debuting a diverse selection of wares to purchase to remember the occasion. San Diego Comic-Con has become one of the biggest events in the world of pop culture, whereas Star Wars fans have been able to attend Star Wars Celebration to spend an entire weekend immersed in a galaxy far, far away. In recent years, however, the D23 Expo and its celebration of all things Disney has become bigger than ever, celebrating both Lucasfilm and Marvel alike.

This year’s convention is less than a month away and will provide fans with an opportunity to learn what’s new in the world of Star Wars and has just released a glimpse of collectibles that will be available for purchase. Check out a series of trooper themed mugs below.

In a press release, Disney has also revealed the following:

“Fans won’t have to go to a galaxy far, far away to find an expansive assortment of Star Wars merchandise at D23 Expo 2017. The Disney Store shop will feature Star Wars apparel, accessories, drinkware, and, of course, collectibles. Notable highlights of the assortment are the Limited Edition Star Wars Elite Series Premium Action Figures, featuring iconic Hero and Villain duos: Princess Leia and Darth Vader; Rey and Kylo Ren; and JynErso and Director Orson Krennic. Each duo retails for $79.95 and is limited to an edition size of 1,000.”

In addition to the official pieces of merch sold through the Disney Store, another go-to source of Star Wars apparel, Her Universe, has teased some items you won’t want to miss. The press release revealed:

“Ashley Eckstein, founder of Her Universe, created exclusive pieces for Disney Store that will be available for the first time at D23 Expo 2017. The never-before-seen products are featured within the Minnie Signature, Star Wars, Pixar, and Marvel collections.”

It sounds like no matter what type of collectibles you prefer, there’s going to be plenty of things this year’s D23 will offer you.

The merchandise will only be the tip of the iceberg, as the convention could also see our first glimpse at the upcoming Han Solo film or a new The Last Jedi trailer, as the convention is known for debuting all sorts of clips and trailers to its attendees.
