The latest product leak about the upcoming Star Wars movie doesn’t spoil any plot points from The Last Jedi, but it does reveal a different model of the fan-favorite droid.

A Walmart exclusive POP! figure from Funko recently made waves on Reddit, giving fans the first look at the Resistance BB Unit.
This version looks MUCH different from BB-8, which we learned is “one of a kind” from Poe Dameron in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
It also has some major differences from the BB-9E droids that were revealed in the upcoming LEGO sets for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But the dark coloring isn’t the only detail to standout.
While the grainy photo doesn’t gave the best lighting, the packaging indicates that the droid’s headpiece is different from BB-8’s rounded head and the 9E’s astromech-like head. The Resistance BB Unit appears to have a protruding piece with a lens that comes out of the head.
These are somewhat minor cosmetic differences that make the droid’s stand out on their own altogether.
How will the Resistance use these BB droids and how do they differ from the astromechs that pilots usually use in their starships?
Hopefully we learn more about these droids, the BB-9Es, and why BB-8 is so unique when Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in theaters on December 15.
