The history of Star Wars is told in action and humor, tension and excitement. But most of all, it’s snappy dialogue and iconic one-liners that make Star Wars so unique.

There are lines from Star Wars that people all over the world know and even use in every day conversation. Things like “May the Force Be With You” and the oft-misquoted (but still generally known) “No, I am your father” are known even to people who don’t know or haven’t seen Star Wars. Likewise, lines like “I have a bad feeling about this,” which has appeared in basically every Star Wars product ever, and endearing yet comedic moments like “I love you” “I know” have worked their ways into fans’ hearts. Lines like “there is another” and “there’s always truth in legends,” meanwhile, tell and tease entire stories all on their own.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story adds to that tradition, with lines that fit in all of those categories. Here are five of our favorites, and we swear, they’re not all from K-2SO. SPOILERS obviously.
“You’re not talking about peace, you’re talking about fear.” “We have to start somewhere.”
In the opening prologue scene between Galen Erso and Director Orson Krennic, the two talk about what the Death Star, a planet-destroying weapon, is really being built for. Krennic argues that it will bring a lasting peace to the galaxy, to which Galen replies, “You’re not talking about peace, you’re talking about fear.”
It’s a refrain used often when talking about weaponry – but it’s something that can be used both for and against it, as Krennic so succinctly points out.
“We have to start somewhere,” he says, with a smug eyebrow raise and shrug delivered by actor Ben Mendelsohn. It perfectly encapsulates the way the Empire views human life.
Krennic runner up: “They have a child. Findย it!”

“Well Done. You’re a Rebel now…”
K-2SO has a myriad of great lines; almost any line he utters in the film could make its way onto a top five list. But this line, which was used to fully bring Imperial pilot defector Bodhi Rook into the fold, is special. It’s a rare compliment – but still has some menace to it. If Rook thought there was any way he could get out of this situation, which would certainly lead to his death (um, and does), he can’t now. That is also the moment the team really becomes a team – in the heat of battle and marred by tragedy, a foreshadowing for their entire adventure.
K-2SO Runner-up: “There are a lot of explosions for two people blending in.”

“I am one with the Force. The Force is with me.”
A generation ofย Star Warsย fans might be using this line, the prayer mantra of Chirrut รmwe, more than the classic “May the Force be with you.” The mantra, which Chirrut utters when in trouble, when in battle, or when he just needs to feel an extra boost from the Force, is a perfect mantra – it’s simple and beautiful and says everything it needs to.
Chirrut runner-up: “Are you kidding me? I’m blind!” when a bag was placed over his head.

“I’ve placed a flaw deep within the system…”
With one line, Galen Erso solves the biggest plot hole in the originalย Star Wars trilogy. Why in all the galaxy was there such an obvious flaw in the Death Star’s design? It’s because Galen, who was conscripted to design the weapon of death, placed it there. Boom, plot hole filled, and exhaust hole leading directly to the core of the super weapon explained.
Imperial runner-up, Darth Vader while Force-choking Krennic: “Be careful not to choke on your aspirations, Director.”

“Your behavior, Jyn Erso, is continually unexpected.”
If you hadn’t fallen in love with K-2SO before, then this line probably did it. Kaytoo, ready to sacrifice himself for the mission, gives the most heartfelt goodbye he’s likely capable of to Jyn Erso. Jyn, who he didn’t like. Jyn, who he derided multiple times. The novelization takes it one step farther, as Jyn thinks to herself, “I couldn’t ask for a nicer compliment.” This sort of moment, when a droid shows their very human evolution of character, is part of what makes Star Wars special.
K-2SO to Jyn runner-up: “I’m with you, Jyn. Cassian said I have to.”
