Of all eight core characters on Fear, who will be the first to go? Let’s be honest, the chances of each making it out of the entire season are pretty slim. Season one saw a couple of major deaths with Travis’ ex-wife (and Chris’s mom) Liza being the victim of a mercy kill and Daniel’s wife (Ophelia’s mother) succumbing to her wounds.
Let’s break down each characters chances of survival…
Travis: Danger. Travis has been adapting to the new world slower than most. He is still very reserved and hesitant when it comes to killing, even when the undead pose a threat. Holding onto pre-apocalyptic ways of life have never proven to be very beneficial in the Walking Dead world.
Madison: Less danger. Not safe. Madison has made some questionable choices along the way and those can certainly prove costly. On top of that, she is willing to sacrifice herself for her kids at a moment’s notice and her kids aren’t keen to good decisions, either. She has adapted to the world faster than Travis, though.
Alicia: Danger. Perhaps the Queen of Bad Choices, Alicia put herself and the entire group at risk when she invited strangers in the direction of the Abigail. Bad choices are the number one cause of death in the apocalypse.
Nick: Safe. If anyone understands the new world, it’s the former drug addict. He has embraced the walkers and the world around him. He’s ready to redeem himself and help others. He’s a survivor.
Chris: Safe. Though he is deeply troubled following the loss of his mother, Chris is also adapting to the new world quite well. His cold heart has him willing to do whatever it takes to protect himself and, to an extent, those with him. His attitude may eventually prove costly but for now, he is probably on the right track.
Daniel: Danger. Being the first one to buck up and fight can be a good thing but if you ask Shane Walsh, it’s not always the best thing. His trust issues have opened the group’s eyes but his haste and aggression could prove costly.
Ophelia: Safe. With her shoulder already wounded, Ophelia will likely stay out of the action. Plus, her father would die before letting something happen to her.
Strand: Safe. The group has nothing and no where to go without Strand. His mystery will continue to unfold and his resources will (hopefully) prove fruitful for the group.
It would be a shame to see it but the most likely choices for first to go are probably either Travis or Daniel. The loss of Travis would propel Chris fully into the dark side. His counterpart, the hasty, tough guy Daniel, may find that he is too willing to fight for his own good.
Fear the Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 PM ET on AMC.
