When Negan debuted in the season six finale of The Walking Dead, he wrecked the world of every fan who was watching. His deadly game of “eeny meeny miny moe” will always be etched into the minds of fans.

Apparently, that simple rhyme carries a very racist and demeaning message to some, and a man in the UK decided to speak out when he saw a Negan-themed shirt in a Primark store.
Primark is a chain in the UK, and they have been carrying a Walking Dead shirt dedicated to Negan. It says “Eeny Meeny Miny Moe”, and shows Lucille hovering over the words. When a man named Ian Lucraft came upon it in the store, he was immediately upset. He claimed the shirt was racist, and went straight to a Primark executive.
The complaint resulted in the chain pulling the shirts from each and every location across the UK.
Mr. Lucraft’s statement reveals why he felt the shirt was so disrespectful:
“It was fantastically offensive and I can only assume that no-one in the process of ordering it knew what they were doing or were aware of its subliminal messages.”
According to Luftcraft, “The slogan is ‘Eeeny meenie miny moeโฆ..’ It stops there, but of course we all know what the original said: ‘catch a n***** by his toe.’” He continued, “The graphic has a large American baseball bat, wrapped round with barbed wire, and covered with blood. This image relates directly to the practice of assaulting black people in America. “It is directly threatening of a racist assault, and if I were black and were faced by a wearer I would know just where I stood.”
While some, like Lufcraft, see the rhyme ending in a racist message, others remember a different version. On The Walking Dead, Negan uses the version that states, “Catch a Tiger by his toe.”
