The Walking Dead‘s little boy has survived one of the toughest challenges his life will offer: high school.

The young man charged with playing Carl Grimes on the AMC series announced that he finished high school on Tuesday afternoon. Chandler Riggs shared a tweet reading, “officially done with high school wow.” This comes after his final AP exam which was completed on Monday, as told by a prior tweet reading, “just took my 10th (and last) ap exam ever. rip my brain.”

Riggs’ future after high school has been a subject of debate among fans of The Walking Dead, which the young actor joined in 2010 at 11 years old. After being congratulated on acceptance to Auburn University (a school located in Alabama which he will not be attending in the fall — in favor of an in-state school) by former co-star Jon Bernthal, the uproar of “Is Carl going to die?” questions took the Internet by storm.

Riggs’ character survived Season 7 of the AMC series, however, and the actor also shared his excitement to begin filming on the eighth season just a few weeks ago.

“Just finished reading 801 of [The Walking Dead] and oooo man it’s good,” Riggs wrote upon getting the first copy of his script for the new season.

Heading into the new batch of episodes, Riggs is not the only young actor reaching such a milestone and sticking with the show while doing so.

Other Young Actors

Unlike many of the young actors on The Walking Dead (see: Sophia actress Madison Lintz, Lizzie actress Brighton Sharbino, Mikaย actress Kyla Kenedy), Riggs’ young character has survived the zombie apocalypse through seven seasons. Joining him will be Katelyn Nacon, who plays Enid on the series, and was recently upgraded to series regular for the upcoming batch of episodes.

Naconย joined The Walking Dead late in its fifth season. Since, she has appeared in just under 20 episodes of the series, becoming heavily involved with Lauren Cohan’sย Maggie character as the two ladies began calling the Hilltop home.ย

Like Riggs, the 17-year-old actress is celebrating her high school graduation this spring, as well. Attending college in the fall will not effect her newly upgraded role on The Walking Dead.ย

The Yearbook

Riggs’ graduation from high school didn’t come without his parents playing their role in the yearbook. What some teenagers might deem as embarrassing in Riggs’ position is actually one of the most epic collages a kid his age could ask for.ย

While he may be famous, Chandler Riggs is still a high school kid, and his parents took out an ad in his yearbook, to celebrate all that he’s accomplished.

Another student in the actor’s graduating class posted a picture of the ad on Reddit. It looks just like anyone else’sย senior ad, except for the cover of Entertainment Weekly staring up at you from the middle of the page.ย

It’s a page Riggs should be extremely proud of. Hit the link embedded below to for a glimpse at Riggs’ page in the high school yearbook as posted by his classmate on Reddit.

How’s that for hitting the bucket list before completing high school?ย
