Well, maybe not every one.
In a recent interview with Fandom, Greg Nicotero, Norman Reedus, and Christian Serratos sat down to talk about the seventh season. During the interview, Nicotero was asked about some of the Easter Eggs he’s hidden in his episodes.
The producer mentioned some of the hints that people caught, but he revealed one major nod to a classic horror film that almost everyone has missed.
Nicotero said that a Jaws Easter Egg was hidden in a scene with Daryl and Aaron, all the way back in season five.
As the two men were scavenging for supplies, Aaron tried to look for license plates from different states. He and his partner Eric collected the plates, and Aaron spent some extra time taking the plates off of cars if he found them.
According to Nicotero, the license plate on one of the cars was an exact replica of the license plate that was pulled from the shark in Jaws.
This was an incredibly well-hidden Easter Egg. So much so, that many fans have still never noticed, even two years later.
