Eugene Porter fell in love in Sunday night’s new episode of The Walking Dead. The Hostiles and Calamities adventure saw the character escorted through Negan’s Sanctuary and introduced to the wives but it wasn’t the women he fell in love with. Instead, it was pickles.

“I was gifted these pickles,” Eugene told Negan upon being offered a signing bonus for joining the Saviors.
Those pickle meant more to him than any other food the Sanctuary had to offer but, specifically, Eugene ruled out kettle made chips when Laura offered them early in the episode.
Following Josh McDermitt’s portrayal of the kettle chip hating Eugene on The Walking Dead, the actor took to Twitter to talk about an appearance on a morning news show where he promised to discuss his love for pickles. That’s when Kettle Brand Chips stepped in and trolled McDermitt on Twitter.

“We’d like to have a word,” Kettle Brand Chips said. McDermitt responded later, asking “Should I lawyer up?” and the chip manufacturers ultimately let McDermitt off the hook but suggested he slide into the DMs for a private conversation. Could this be the new Bisquick Challenge, which Abraham Ford actor Michael Cudlitz launched with the Walker Stalker Convention encouraging fans to donate food in the wake of his “When you were pouring Bisquick, did you mean to make pancakes?” line?
