Tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead, titled ‘Say Yes‘, will feature plenty of the show’s royal couple. Rick and Michonne are on the hunt for more guns, and they’re set to get plenty of one-on-one time.

The couple has been developing into quite the powerhouse since they got together in season six, and fans are beginning to wonder if they’re built to last. Will Rick and Michonne stick it out and stay together? Or, is there a possible break-up in the future.

Honestly, the only way these two are breaking up is if one of them is killed. Death is the only way they separate.

When you look throughout the history of The Walking Dead, there has only been one full break-up. Abraham called things off with Rosita last year, and that’s been the only time the characters have been in a completely exclusive relationship, and then decided to end it.

Sure, you had couples like Shane and Lori, but they were never really together. He was a placeholder who wanted more. Everyone else that went through some kind of break-up, only did so because of some kind of loss.

So, based on history, Rick and Michonne are pretty safe. Seeing as how neither one will die anytime soon, the odds of that break-up are extremely low.

Not to mention their story follows that of Rick and Andrea in the comics. The couple on the pages has built something long-lasting, and their on-screen counterpart is doing the very same.

If you’re a fan of Richonne, there’s nothing to worry about. They’re not going anywhere, anytime soon.

Following Sunday’s new episode, executive producer of The Walking Dead and director of Say Yes, Greg Nicotero will join ComicBook.com’s live after show, After the Dead, for an exclusive interview recapping the episode and previewing the final four episodes of Season 7.
