The Walking Dead spent a lot of its seventh season introducing new communities, gearing up for the eventual battle with Negan and his Saviors. The only problem with that, is that many of the groups don’t have any ties to one another.

At least, not yet.
In ‘Swear‘, Tara spent time on her own, and wound up discovering the Oceanside community. The all-female colony hates Negan as much as anyone, and they’re stocked with ammo. When Tara returned to Alexandria however, she lied about meeting anyone.
If Rick ever got the chance to talk to these women, he could surely create a strong alliance that could help defeat Negan once and for all.
According to showrunner Scott Gimple, that meeting is definitely on the way.
During an interview with EW, Gimple was asked about Oceanside’s involvement with Rick in the second half of season seven.
“There’s definitely unfinished business there. And the information that Oceanside โ and what it possesses โ would be a very big deal to Rick.”
He’s likely talking about two things here – the ridiculous arsenal that the Oceanside women possess, and the info they have on Negan after spending time working for him.
When these two groups eventually meet, it’s going to be a huge moment in the war against Negan.
