After returning with the second highest rated episode of the series – nabbing over 17 million viewers – the show has dropped to its smallest audience since Season 3. Sunday night’s Tara-centric Episode 6 of Season 7 pulled in a total audience of 10.4 million viewers, earning a 4.9 rating in the key 18-49 demographic.

The number is a considerable drop from the 11 million viewers who tuned in for Maggie and Sasha’s adventures at the Hilltop a week prior.

Here is a breakdown of how each episode has gone so far in The Walking Dead Season 7:

  • 7×01: 17.03 million
  • 7×02: 12.46 million
  • 7×03: 11.72 million
  • 7×04: 11.40 million
  • 7×05: 11.00 million
  • 7×06: 10.40 million

Despite extended episodes carrying much of the season, many fans feel as though little has happened since Negan’s introduction was carried out in the Season 7 premiere. However, this is not the case at all. The content of The Walking Dead‘s latest episodes has considerably advanced the plot but its delivery has been questionable. On a weekly basis, fan favorite characters both new and old have been left out, offering gaps spanning multiple weeks at a time where fans have to hope to see their character next Sunday.

With only two episodes remaining in the first half of Season 7, all of the groups have been touched upon and the current situation of each character with a name has been revealed. The show can finally begin to tie them all together for a midseason finale which will have to deliver big time if it hopes to keep viewership in the seven figure range.

Still, the show is far and beyond keeping the title of “King of Cable.” In fact, the number two show on Sunday night is The Walking Dead‘s after show Talking Dead which earned 3.77 million viewers (a 1.71 rating) on Sunday night. Behind Talking Dead, by a considerable margin, is Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta with 2.55 million viewers and a 1.13 ratings.

Westworld continues to climb, earning the fourth spot with its penultimate episode of Season 1 at 2.08 million viewers and a 1.02 rating.
