In a tweet earlier today Berkeley, who plays Gregory, wrote, “Landed in Atlanta! Hilltop here I come! Psyched for #Season7 of #TWD !!” This will be Xander’s second season on The Walking Dead after joining the cast in season six.
Responding on twitter to his arrival in Atlanta, a fan on twitter gave him the compliment and warning, “Try and stay cool out there, man. Whenever I watch, I think “humidity, heat, mosquitoes. Those actors are dedicated!” He replied with, “they sure as hell are. I was blown away by the commitment and dedication of this bunch.” Temperatures in Georgia are currently in the 90’s, even when it’s raining.
As we know from last season Gregory is the leader of the Hilltop community which the group arrives at looking for help. Though his community is a safe place and becomes an ally to the group at the Alexandria Safe-Zone, Gregory can be a bit slimy and isn’t exactly a clear cut friend. With all the major actors reportedly on set to film in May to film the the other half of the season six cliff hanger it’s hard to tell you makes it out alive. So with much hanging on the first episode of season 7 – only the actors and writers know where all of this is going and if Gregory’s character will stick to what we know about him from the comics as a untrustworthy Hilltop leader or an true ally to Rick’s group.
The Walking Dead will return for its seventh season in October.
