Gathering across the street from Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals, the crowded Nashville streets weren’t going to stop fans of the popular AMC series and comic book series from Robert Kirkman. Hundreds of fans took to the convention center decked out in costumes themed after their favorite characters. In the gallery below, the many creative costumes from the first day of the 2017 Walker Stalker Convention in Nashville!

While dozens of fans chose to throw on a leather jacket to accompany their deadly baseball bats, pulling off the Negan, other fans took a more diverse approach. Several fans showed up in Eugene garb, both pre- and post-betrayal of Rick Grimes in favor of Negan, along with Abraham’s, Rosita’s, Dwight’s and a few Rick’s.

Prior to the convention, several stars of the AMC stopped by ComicBook.com’s headquarters to discuss their experience with the series ahead of their appearance at the convention.

“It was awful,” Aaron actor Ross Marquand said of filming the Season 7 premiere. “I mean it was the same with the end of season 6:16 and 7:01. It was very tough to echo from before just like going back to that place over and over again day after day and night after night. It was mostly night shoots, a couple day shoots peppered in there, so you know you’re freezing your butt off, you’re scared for your friends, and you know just the idea of losing people that you really love.”
