The Walking Dead: Five Characters We're Glad Are Dead
The Walking Dead has always been built on the premise of 'no one is safe.'Often times, that phrase [...]
Dawn
The hospital storyline from Season 5 almost made us wish for Glenn's death. Slabtown did little for most Walking Dead fans besides wish it had never happened. As the group reunited post-prison battle, Beth was missing and much of the season was spent searching for her and Carol (who happened to end up in the same place, otherwise Beth would have been forgotten).
Menacing Beth throughout her hospital days was the local sheriff in town: Dawn.
Dawn did nothing to earn any favoritism from fans. She bullied Beth and Noah. She manipulated the police force around her. She even ended up killing Beth.
Bye, Dawn.
prevnextLori
Lori's death was bitter sweet.
Seeing her offed in front of her son during childbirth was heartshattering. However, the sadness we felt in her final moments did not make up for the months of torture which was watching her act high and mighty after accidentally betraying Rick and getting pregnant with his best friend's baby.
Lori couldn't even drive a car through the apocalypse without crashing it. There was no one else on the roads!
Bye, Lori!
prevnextNicholas
Nicholas was more of a threat to the people around him then zombies, themselves.
The cowardly resident of Alexandria was responsible for several deaths and almsot ended up getting Glenn killed, as well. Watching as he blew his own brains out was a sigh of relief for fans who wanted to see him off, only worrying us as we thought Glenn was devoured by zombies in the aftermath.
Bye, Nicholas! We definitely don't miss you!
prevnextSpencer Monroe
The only death of Season 6 which made fans a little bit happy was Spencer's, whether or not they want to admit.
Comic book fans were salivating as Spencer's comic book death got closer and closer in The Walking Dead's midseason finale. Finally, the biggest liar in Alexandria was off-ed in epic gory fashion at the hands of everybody's favorite villain, Negan.
Finally, people will stop hording alcohol, guns, and food in the Safe-Zone when more valuable members of the community might need them.
Bye, Spencer!
prevnextThe Governor
At the time, the Governor was a horrifying threat to Rick's group. Of course, it turns out he was just crazy and Negan is much more intimidating.
While the Governor storyline was one of the most compelling from the first four seasons of The Walking Dead, we're glad he's gone because his story was run into the ground a bit when he decided to shoot up his own people. On top of that, stretching his encounter with Rick across a couple of seasons and sidelining him for several consecutive episodes took away from our interest in the feud.
Bye, Gov'!
