The Walking Dead explored an interesting new group in its New Best Friends episode on Sunday night. The Internet has been calling them the “Garbage Pail Kids” for weeks but if you ask the actress charged with portraying their leader Jadis, Pollyanna McIntosh will tell you they refer to themselves as the “Heapsters.”

While pets have been an interesting concept on The Walking Dead since King Ezekiel marched in with a tiger but the Heapsters kept an animal in their junkyard which resembled something from a Mad Max movie: a walker armed with spikes, a metal helmet, and an unstoppable zombie bite. That creature which Rick Grimes had to fight in Sunday night’s episode was named Winslow according to Heapster leader Jadis.

As it turns out, Winslow has a backstory. According to Jadis actress Pollyanna McIntosh, conversations have informed her of “who he is” and “who he was.”

What followed the reveal of Winslow possibly being more important than met the eye in New Best Friends was not as fun, for now.

“Unfortunately, I can’t tell you anything about it — or not unfortunately, because it’s more exciting for the fans, which I’m one of, to know that there are secrets kept so that the show can be as good as it is,” McIntosh says.

The details of Winslow may be revealed as the back half of The Walking Dead‘s seventh season rolls on but for more details on the Heapsters from their leader, check out ComicBook.com’s exclusive interview with McIntosh by clicking here!
