Fans of the adult-animated Harley Quinn got some good news from HBO Max, with the streamer confirming Season 4 will indeed premiere in 2023. With the fate of many of HBO Max’s animated original programming up in the air, it appears Harley Quinn is relatively safe. James Gunn, new co-CEO of DC Studios had a guest appearance on Harley Quinn Season 3, and appears to be building a long-term plan for the DC Universe alongside Peter Safran. New regarding the series has been pretty quiet as of late, but HBO Max has delivered the first indication of when fans can expect Harley Quinn to return to the streaming service.

HBO Max released a trailer and listing of the platform’s original programming lineup for 2023. Included in the listing of titles debuting in 2023 is Harley Quinn, though a release window or timeframe isn’t provided. Joining Harley Quinn as far as premieres are concerned is Mindy Kaling’s Velma, The Last of Us, and the returns of Titans and Doom Patrol.

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are reuniting for a Valentine’s Day special next year.ย The third season of the adult-animatedย Harley Quinnย concluded earlier this year, as #Harlivy took Gotham City by storm as an official couple. While fans wait for news on a fourth season, HBO Max surprisingly announcedย Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special, set to debut in February 2023. The special will feature Harley and Ivy celebrating their very first Valentine’s Day together, while also revealing how the rest of the ragtag crew spends the gushiest, mushiest, most romantic day of the year.
The familiar voice cast ofย Harley Quinnย will return for the special, featuring Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, Matt Oberg, James Wolk, Natalie Morales, Chris Diamantopoulos, James Adomian, Jim Rash, Vanessa Marshall, Janet Varney, Rachel Dratch, Leila Birch, Tyler James Williams, Josh Helman, Casey Wilson, Michael Ironside, and others. HBO Max didn’t announce if the Valentine’s Day special will run for the standard length of aย Harley Quinnย episode, or be super-sized for the romantic holiday.
Harley Quinn Renewed for Season 4
HBO Max officially renewedย Harley Quinnย for Season 4, ahead of its Season 3 finale on September 15th. Sarah Peters (Workaholics,ย Master of None,ย Nathan For You), who has written on the series since Season 1 and currently serves as consulting producer, will be elevated to executive producer and serve as showrunner for Season 4. Theย Harley Quinnย renewal came at a time of great uncertainty at HBO Max, as parent companyย Warner Bros. Discovery has removed and canceled several TV shows and moviesย from the service for cost-cutting reasons.
