Mighty Morphin Power Rangers star Jason David Frank is taking a stroll down memory lane. Frank released a series of photos on Instagram of himself posing with original villain props from the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers television show. Now he’s capped that off with a photo of himself posing with an original prop much more directly tied to his ever-popular character Tommy Oliver’s time as the White Ranger.

Frank can be seen in the photo below holding the original prop of Saba, the enchanted sword that Tommy used as the White Ranger. Saba’s hilt is shaped like a white tiger and the weapon is sentient and capable of speech. Whoever controlled Saba also controlled the White Tigerzord.
Power Rangers recently got the reboot treatment with a new Power Rangers movie starring an entirely new cast of Rangers. Frank was meant to have a cameo appearance in the movie, but the scene was cut from the theatrical release. Frank may not get another chance as the film’s poor performance overseas has left the fate of the planned sequel in jeopardy.
Saban‘s Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.
Saban’s Power Rangers stars Dacre Montgomery as Jason Lee Scott/the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy Cranston/the Blue Ranger, Becky G as Trini Kwan/the Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack Taylor/the Black Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly Hart/the Pink Ranger, Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, Bill Hader as Alpha 5, and Bryan Cranston as Zordon.
The film is being directed by Project Almanac-helmer Dean Israelite and was written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz.
