There is only one mission in The Boys universe: defeating Homelander. Billy Butcher begins his journey with a personal vendetta, wanting to get back at Vought’s top dog because he believes he’s responsible for his wife’s disappearance. However, what Butcher’s team uncovers is worse than anything they could’ve possibly imagined. Homelander isn’t looking to just control Vought, but the entire country, getting the new president to allow him to round up anyone he sees as a threat. The situation is forcing Billy to turn to Supes for help, which is against his code.

Starlight is The Boys’ wringer, but even she knows that she can’t take Homelander on her own. The former member of The Seven reaches out to Marie Moreau for help, and while she doesn’t expect much from her, what she doesn’t realize is that she’s partnering up with one of the most dangerous Supes in the world. Marie isn’t the only formidable student at Godolkin University, though. Here’s how all six of Gen V‘s main Supes stack up against Homelander and whether any of them could beat him.
6) Emma Meyer

Being unable to control her shrinking and enlarging powers makes Emma Meyer the least helpful of Gen V‘s crew. While she has superhuman durability like her friends, she doesn’t bring much else to the table. The only way she could pose a threat to Homelander is by employing the strategy everyone wanted Ant-Man to use against Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.
5) Polarity

Controlling metal makes a character very dangerous; just ask Marvel Comics’ Magento. However, Polarity cannot push himself too far because it will kill him. After losing his son to Vought, Polarity might set his sights on Homelander once he’s done with Cipher, but all Antony Starr’s villain will have to do is wait for his opponent to beat himself. Polarity’s only chance would be to put all of his energy into a single attack, one that would surely cost his life.
4) Cate Dunlap

The only reason Cate isn’t at the bottom of this list is that she’s in Homelander’s good graces. If she turns over a new leaf, she can leverage her relationship with the head Supe to get close to him, potentially forcing him to take himself out or allow himself to get captured using her mind manipulation powers. The moment Homelander smells something fishy, though, Cate won’t have long to react before she’s a pile of mush.
3) Jordan Li

The new top dog at Godolkin is Jordan Li, who is as versatile as any Supe on the planet. Having two different sets of powers makes Jordan an interesting matchup for Homelander. Unfortunately, Jordan is clearly weaker than at least two other characters on the campus. Their best bet is to catch Homelander off guard and hope they can beat him into submission before he realizes what hit him. That’s a tall order, though, as Homelander always keeps his head on a swivel.
2) Sam Riordan

There’s one person at Godolkin that gives Jordan a run for their money in the strength department: Sam Riordan. Golden Boy’s younger brother has his fair share of mental issues, which make him prone to outbursts. Losing control means endangering the entire campus, but someone is always around to get his mind right. However, in a battle against Homelander, the rest of the Supes are sure to allow Sam to run wild and push Homelander to his limits.
1) Marie Moreau

If Sam can’t get the job done, the best bet to take down Homelander is Marie Moreau, who Godolkin’s new dean claims can be stronger than the leader of The Seven. Manipulating blood allows Marie to attack in unique ways, but she’s only scratching the surface of her powers. Once she’s able to control other people’s blood, Homelander would probably rather run away from her than face her one-on-one. Starlight would be smart to send Marie after Homelander, especially if she’s unable to break her friends out of jail before he launches the next phase of his plan.
