The heel royalty that is The Miz has enjoyed a career renaissance since picking up the intercontinental championship earlier this year. As with all things, though, storylines tend to come to an end, and recent rumors indicate that The Miz might soon lose a valuable ally.

That ally is his current manager, Maryse, who has been instrumental in solidifying his Hollywood royalty gimmick and has also helped Miz throughout his 190 days Intercontinental Championship run. She's always a threat to an opponent's winning odds at ringside, and her antics have allowed Miz to pull out numerous victories in recent months. He recently lost the Intercontinental belt at No Mercy to Dolph Ziggler only after she was exiled from the ring, so that tells you how important she's become.

WWE posted a tweet yesterday that seems to indicate an upcoming split (via RingSideNews). The picture was of her at ringside with the caption "@MaryseMizanin plots away at ringside, but could her future be brighter without @mikethemiz by her side? #WWEDesMoines". This would be a huge blow for The Miz, but it would make sense from a storyline standpoint. He's just lost the belt to Ziggler, and now he would lose his manager, resulting in an even more vengeful Miz who feels as if everyone has turned on him.

They are wonderful together, though, so it would be sad to see WWE break them up this soon. The good news for Miz is that even if they do break them up for a bit on TV, the duo is married in real life, so they still get to enjoy each other's company, just not in the ring.

Earlier this year, The Miz spoke to ESPN about how Maryse changed things when WWE brought her on board, and how that affected his character.

"As soon as she got hired, it gave me a whole new confidence in everything -- in my ability to do promos, in my ability to be in the ring," said The Miz, who gives his wife full credit for his reinvention. "When your wife is sitting there watching you ringside, you are kind of showing off, and you don't want to look stupid -- ever."
