It’s not uncommon for legendary WWE superstars to keep up with today’s product, and more than likely each one has their current favorite among the roster. That includes the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, who many consider to be one of the WWE greats in the companies history.

While fans are always excited to see him make appearances on RAW and Smackdown Live, his favorite at the moment is part of the RAW roster and is none other than The Boss Sasha Banks. Banks appeared on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast (via CageSideSeats) and recalled a recent conversation that just about made her year.
“Shawn Michaels was backstage and he talked to me. I was like, “Oh, this is so cool. He was like, “Dude, you’re my favorite wrestler. I was like, “What the? You said that to me, Shawn Michaels?”
That makes a great deal of sense actually, as the two superstars share a variety of similarities in both their in-ring work and their overall characters. Michaels and Banks are daredevil’s in the ring, putting their bodies on the line night in and night out, and not jut in their offense either. Both wrestlers are quite proficient in the art of selling and aren’t afraid to go for more violent spots when the need arises.
Their characters don’t center around the same gimmick, but both are bold and outspoken, and command your attention when they’re talking in the ring. Whether as a heel or a babyface, both Banks and Michaels seem to always be over with the crowd, so it’s no wonder that Michaels has taken a liking to Banks.
Sasha, unfortunately, lost the Women’s Championship to Charlotte at their match in Hell in a Cell, but the two will likely meet up again at TLC or Roadblock, and it should be another fantastic duel. While Banks is attempting to pick herself up off the mat professionally, personally the star just tied the knot with costume designer Sarath Ton, who previously wrestled in the WWE under the “Kid Mikaze” moniker.
Next up for WWE is Survivor Series, and the much-anticipated match between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg on November 20. After that, it’s time for TLC on December 4, followed by Roadblock on December 18.
