AJ Styles Defeats John Cena At SummerSlam

John Cena had said that the future has to go through him. Well, consider AJ Styles the future as he went right through the "face of the WWE" at SummerSlam in a five-star classic.

This match will go down as a career-defining match for AJ Styles as after laying out all the moves in his arsenal, finally got a clean victory over Cena without the help of The Club. AJ was able to resist the Cena's trademark STF a handful of times and and in a series of counters, was able to land a final Styles Clash to land the pinfall on the fifteen-time World Champion.

The match left the WWE Universe in awe and thanked both men for their performance as it's an easy contender for match of the year. Afterwards, Cena left one of his wristbands with his patented catchphrase "Never Give Up" in the ring.

It should be noted for a few things, mainly that AJ Styles is the first person in the world of professional wrestling to wrestle at Wrestle Kingdom, Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, Royal Rumble in the same year. The other thing is that Cena hasn't won a match at SummerSlam since 2007.

With this victory over Cena, AJ seems ready to conquer the rest of the WWE.
