AJ started his career WCW as a member of Air Raid (think Goose and Iceman from Top Gun as a tag team) and wrestled under the name of Air Styles. He turned down a developmental contract for the then WWF in 2002 and soon became one of the founding fathers of NWA-TNA, which is now of course called Impact Wrestling.

Styles is a seven-time world champion having won titles in ROH, TNA, and NJPW with 23 champions as a whole under his impressive resume. Styles was also the first and only TNA wrestler thus far to be listed as number one in the PWI 500 list, which is something he can definitely call his own.

Having signed a multi-year deal with the WWE in early 2016, Styles has made quite the impact so far after debuting at the Royal Rumble to a huge ovation. So far, he’s challenged fellow veteran Chris Jericho at WrestleMania and recently Roman Reigns twice for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at back-to-back pay per views.

With Styles realigning himself with his friends from New Japan, now known as The Club, we’ll have to find out how far his journey in the WWE takes him and if he can live up to the name of “Phenomenal”.
