As of today, the Hardy Boyz are officially free agents. With their TNA contract expiring last night at midnight, the Broken Brothers of Hardy didn't waste any time in announcing their next move.
Unfortunately for WWE fans, it appears that the Hardys are not heading home. At least not yet.
Matt, in all of his broken greatness, sent a Tweet to Kenny Omega that he had his sights set on The Elite and New Japan Professional Wrestling.
Did someone say MAGIC?
Myself & the NEFARIOUS #BrotherNero have eyes on The ELITE & The New Wrestling in Japan.
We'll see you all soon. https://t.co/JzqD4DhtA5— #BROKEN Matt Hardy (@MATTHARDYBRAND) March 1, 2017
It's believed the Hardys will be returning their TNA tag team titles to the company this week but won't be working the Impact tapings to drop them on air. TNA officials denied the Hardys' offer to return to lose the titles, according to Reby Hardy on Busted Open.
While The Hardys are heading to New Japan, a WWE return is not completely off the table. Reby also announced on Busted Open that Matt would not be willing to drop the #Broken character that he worked so hard to cultivate last year in TNA.
