Looks like Hulk Hogan's feud with the media site Gawker has come to an end. Hogan's lawsuit put the company in financial jeopardy and it was announced today that Gawker will be shutting down in a week after being won in an auction by Univision.

Gawker made the announcement and its plans for the company going forward. It was reported that Nick Denton, the company's outgoing CEO, had informed current staffers of the site's fate on, which was just hours before a bankruptcy court in Manhattan would decide whether to approve Univision's bid for Gawker Media's other assets. It's been said that the near-term plans for Gawker.com's coverage, as well as the site's archives, have not yet been finalized thus far.

This goes back to Hogan's sex tape controversy and the wrestling icon suing the gossip site for "destroying his career" and tarnishing his brand and imagery back in May of this year. In the end, Hogan won the lawsuit and was awarded $115M in damages. Hogan hasn't really mentioned the controversy since then and concentrated on restoring his image, but took the time out for a quick response to the sale of the site in the most Hulk Hogan way possible.

While Hogan's troubles with Gawker and Peter Thiel might be over, there's still the matter of WWE still not reinstating Hulk Hogan on their site and in any sort of mentions whatsoever due to his racist comments being unearthed last year. There's been no word of that since WWE scrubbed Hogan from their site and cut him from all promotional material.
