It's almost ironic that Asuka, whose name means "tomorrow" faced off against one of the biggest stars of wrestling's past, Mickie James.

Having been gone from the WWE for almost seven years, James shows no sign of slowing down as she matched Asuka's level of intensity. James tried to play mind games against the champion, but Osaka native wasn't having any of that whatsoever. At one point James was able to fling Asuka on the outside, giving her a moment to recover.

Asuka almost retained from a count out after german suplexing her challenger on the outside. That was the turning point for Asuka gaining the upper hand of James, but James took every ounce of punishment and started to drop Asuka with a series of clotheslines.

Even after taking one of James' Mick Kick, it was Asuka who retained after finally being able to lock on the chickenwing submission maneuver, and keeping her undefeated streak well intact.
